RFMW Ltd. announces design and sales support for a plastic GaN transistor from Qorvo. The TGF2978-SM provides 20 W of saturated power from 8 to 12 GHz for various applications including marine and weather radar, military radar and avionics. Operational to very low frequency, the recommended bias voltage is 32 V. The TGF2978-SM provides >46% PAE and small signal gain of >11 dB at mid X-band frequencies.

Laser Services announced the purchase of a customized, fiber-guided, high power laser from TRUMPF. The specific features of the 2 kW YAG laser include: greater beam power for cutting highly reflective, non-ferrous materials such as copper and aluminum up to a ¼ inch thick; hole drilling as small as 8 mils; higher power efficiency for cooler operation; fewer moving parts and simpler solid state construction for reduced downtime.

Anritsu Co. introduces the Signaling Tester MD8475B, the world’s first all-in-one test solution supporting up to four component carrier aggregation (4CC CA) and 2 x 2 MIMO in a single test box. Integrated with the SmartStudio GUI, the MD8475B lowers cost-of-test and reduces space requirements compared to conventional solutions that require several test instruments, providing engineers with a highly efficient tool to conduct tests on chipsets, modules, and mobile platforms.

RFMW Ltd. announces design and sales support for Qorvo’s TQP9424, a 0.5 W power amplifier for small cell radios. Spanning the 2300 to 2400 MHz frequency band, this internally matched amplifier covers band 30 and band 40 wireless infrastructure applications. The TQP9424 has 36 dB of gain and -47 dBc ACLR at 27 dBm.  Recommended supply voltage is 4.5 V with 470 mA current draw.

RFMW Ltd. announces design and sales support for Southwest Antennas’ “cloverleaf” configuration of omni antennas. These antennas are 3 x smaller than existing solutions yet maintain similar antenna gain, efficiency and excellent radiation pattern control over the entire operational frequency band. Model 1032-024 is a right hand circular polarized (RHCP) Omni cloverleaf antenna with 2.3 to 2.5 GHz frequency band coverage and 1.2 dBi gain. Model 1032-025 is a left hand circular polarized (LHCP) antenna.
