Keysight Technologies, Inc. announced that Sporton has selected the company’s 5G test platforms to deliver comprehensive conformance and regulatory test services to a global device market.

As engineers create new designs for 5G base station antennas, circuit boards and other system components, they are utilizing new high-performance specialty polymers that can achieve stable RF quality, low system cost and high productivity for these components. These materials include high-temperature thermoplastics such as polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), liquid crystal polymers (LCPs) and fluoropolymers.

The Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) reported that the number of commercially available 5G devices has seen a continued growth, breaking the 100 barrier for the first time and totaling 112 as of the end of May 2020.

ZTE Corporation announced that ZTE, along with the Guangdong branch of China Mobile and Migu, has completed the industry’s first pre-commercial trial of 8K VR FoV (field of vision) service based on 5G MEC on the live network of China Mobile. 

Verizon announced several new 5G milestones including the creation of a virtual lab, 5G Ultra Wideband availability in San Diego this month, the roll out of 5G uploads in all existing 5G Ultra Wideband cities and four new 5G technology partners who will help extend mmWave 5G coverage.

ZTE Corporation announced that ZTE and China Unicom have signed a strategic cooperation agreement on 6G. As per the agreement, ZTE and China Unicom will give full play to their own innovative advantages in the 6G field. Based on China Unicom's network and service situation, both sides will jointly explore the prospect and technical trends of 6G.
