Cobham’s Brazilian subsidiary has secured its first major contract in Brazil to equip State Police helicopters with high definition (HD) video surveillance downlinks which will be used on helicopters in 12 cities during the 2013 Confederations Cup and the 2014 World Cup. The contract was developed with a local integration partner following the opening of the Cobham’s Sao Paulo office in August 2012 and includes both airborne and ground based equipment.

RFMW Ltd. announces design and sales support for the RFPA2026, 700 to 2700MHz, 2W power amplifier module from RFMD. The RFPA2026 is a 3-stage module with independent bias control for each stage plus the ability to bypass the first stage to reduce gain and power consumption. With all stages active, the RFPA2026 provides 38dB of gain at 2140MHz with a corresponding P1dB of 33dBm.

Molex Inc. announced its Projected Capacitive Touch Screens, which leverage existing Molex capacitive switch technology to deliver multi-touch functionality that is responsive and intuitive to operate. The touch screens allow Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to meet specific customer needs by providing customized embedded software; multiple screen and glass styles; a variety of treatment finishes and various output interface choices.

RF Monolithics Inc. (a subsidiary of Murata Electronics North America Inc.) (“RFM” or “the company”), a provider of solutions-driven, technology-enabled RF technologies for machine-to-machine (M2M) and wireless communications, introduced the next generation of its wireless sensor networking platform products -- the SN-4 series of battery-powered wireless sensor nodes. The SN-4 provides 4 channels of sensor inputs and transmits the data back to access points, Ethernet, or Cellular gateways.

Analog Devices Inc. introduced the CN0267 demonstration circuit for a loop powered HART® (Highway Addressable Remote Transducer) enabled smart transmitter, for industrial applications that need to operate within a set 3.5-mA power budget. This field instrument circuit demonstrates a complete low power, high precision signal chain solution with minimum area overhead, which has been tested and verified by ADI as part of their Circuits from the Lab™ reference circuits’ initiative.

MathWorks announced strengthened support for wireless communications and radar design with MATLAB and Simulink. Release 2013a now allow designers to speed up modeling and simulation within the familiar MATLAB and Simulink environments. 

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. announced a new surface-mount Power Metal Strip® resistor featuring a wide side terminal construction that yields a high 2 W power rating in the compact 1020 case size. The WSL1020 combines its high power-to-footprint-size ratio with extremely low resistance values down to 0.003 Ω and stable resistance tolerances to 0.5 percent.
