EDI CON USA is pleased to introduce its EDI CON University 2018 program at its event this October 17 and 18 at the Santa Clara Convention Center. These two-hour sessions offer in-depth training in a particular topic, such as MIMO test, amplifier design and measuring impedance.

While the theme of IMS2018 was Microwaves, Medicine and Mobility, the real theme was 5G, 5G and 5G. Most companies in the exhibition were highlighting their play in the 5G market and with the one day 5G Summit, there were many talks addressing 5G applications and technologies.

After last year’s EDI CON China event taking place in Shanghai, EDI CON China returned to Beijing at the Chinese National Convention Center directly across from the Olympic Park. Last night, at EDI CON China 2018 the winners were announced in the EDI CON Innovation Awards. This award program honors products that have had the greatest impact on the industry this year, providing the tools necessary to bring on the next generation of electronic design innovations.

The 60^th IEEE EMC SI/PI Symposium took place August 7-11 at National Harbor in Washington DC with the “plan to inspire, envision, and innovate.” The keynote set the stage for this plan as Julius Knapp, FCC Chief of the Office of Engineering and Technology, discussed the status of the FCC and industry EMC standards, the equipment authorization program and enforcement as the wireless space becomes more and more crowded with emerging technologies such as IoT, connected/autonomous vehicles, UAVs, increased satellite broadband and 5G taking off.
