Advantech Wireless Inc., a privately-held Canadian corporation and manufacturer of satellite, RF equipment and microwave systems will give a live demo of the Next Generation Discovery Adaptive Satellite Access Technology (A-SAT™) platform at NAB 2014, which will take place April 7 – 10, 2014, in Las Vegas, Nevada USA.

Airbus Defence and Space has finalised the deployment of the National Security Shield to the Qatar Ministry of Interior and Armed Forces, covering the entire Qatar territorial waters and land border.

Mercury Systems Inc., a best-of-breed provider of commercially developed, open sensor and Big Data processing systems for critical commercial, defense and intelligence applications, announced that its Mercury Defense Systems subsidiary has received a $1.7 million order from the U.S. Navy for advanced Digital RF Memory (DRFM) jammers to support both U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force requirements.

The third Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) satellite has begun transmitting using its protected communications payload, joining two other satellites undergoing system test in orbit with a suite of user terminals. AEHF satellites are produced by Lockheed Martin for the U.S. Air Force.

Elbit Systems was awarded a contract by the Brazilian Air Force ("FAB") for the supply of a Hermes 900 Unmanned Aircraft System. The Hermes 900 will be operated by FAB in combined missions with the Hermes 450 fleet, already in operational use. Both UAS will carry safety and security missions in the 2014 FIFA World Cup Games.

MBDA has successfully demonstrated its Dual Mode BRIMSTONE missile on an MQ-9 REAPER Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA), scoring nine direct hits against a range of targets including very high speed and manoeuvring vehicles.

Exelis has received an award totaling more than $36 million to provide electronic warfare (EW) equipment, spares and support services to the Turkish Air Force. When fully definitized, the contract could be valued at up to $80 million.

The U.S. will soon have another system to defend against ballistic missiles. Raytheon Co. delivered its ninth AN/TPY-2 ballistic missile defense radar to the Missile Defense Agency, six months ahead of schedule.

Harris Corp., an international communications and information technology company, has successfully completed initial interoperability testing of its widely fielded Falcon III® AN/PRC-117G multiband manpack radio hosting the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) waveform. MUOS is the next-generation U.S. Department of Defense military satellite communications system for delivering cellular-based service through tactical radios.
