Drone Aviation WASP systems participate in U.S. Army's NIE

 Drone Aviation Corp. (DAC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Drone Aviation Holding Corp., a developer of specialized lighter-than-air aerostats and tethered drones, has announced that aerostat systems provided to the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC)/Army Forces Strategic Command have successfully completed operations in the U.S. Army's Network Integration Experiment ("NIE") 14.2 at Fort Bliss, Texas and White Sands Missile Range, N.M. The Army requested that the two Winch Aerostat Small Platforms (WASP) return to NIE 14.2 as a carryover System following their successful evaluation at NIE 14.1 as a system under evaluation. The Army's NIEs evaluate and integrate current and prospective systems thereby driving changing requirements, procurement, and field recommendations.

NGC, US Navy increase MQ-8B Fire Scout's visual reach with a modernized radar

Raytheon selected to demonstrate next generation, modular radar system

Raytheon Co. has been awarded a $6 million study and demonstration contract by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) to further develop an Enterprise Air Surveillance Radar (EASR). Raytheon's EASR concept leverages proven Radar Modular Assembly (RMA) architecture matured on Air and Missile Defense Radar (AMDR). EASR's flexible approach meets the performance needs of different candidate ship classes for ship self-defense, situational awareness, air traffic control, and weather monitoring.

Comtech awarded $4.2 M for DoubleTalk Carrier-in-Carrier satellite modems

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. announced that its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., was awarded a $4.2 million order for DMD2050E Satellite Modems. A systems integrator ordered the equipment on behalf of the United States Army. The modems will be deployed to support mission-critical communications associated with a major military program.
