Crane Aerospace & Electronics has recently been awarded a multi-million dollar contract to supply power converters for the Mars 2020 mission. The contract was awarded by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, Calif. 

A multi-million Euro contract has been awarded to Finmeccanica - Selex ES by defence and security company Saab to supply the Raven ES-05 AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) radar for Saab's Gripen Next Generation (NG) fighters. 

 RFMW Ltd. announces design and sales support fora 50 ohm, input matched, GaN transistor from TriQuint. The T1G3000532-SM spans 30MHz to 3.5GHz and can be tuned for power or efficiency depending on customer application. 

 Raytheon Co. demonstrated their successful prototyping of Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) and Gallium Nitride (GaN) technologies into the US Patriot Air and Missile Defense System radar. In addition to enabling future 360 sensor coverage, these technologies will significantly increase the defended area and decrease the time to detect, discriminate and engage threats. The introduction of GaN-based AESA technologies will also further improve reliability and lower the life cycle costs for the Patriot radar, beyond what has already been achieved with other recent Patriot radar improvements.

Gore & Associates Inc. (Gore) introduces GORE® Ethernet Cables to meet the military and civil aerospace markets' emerging need for higher data rate cables in a lightweight, flexible, and routable package. Featuring the unique cable jacket material found in GORE® 1394b FireWire Cables, GORE® Ethernet Cables provide the ideal combination of high speed and light weight necessary for a wide range of aerospace applications. 

 The 2014 EuMW Defence, Security and Space Forum is a one-day event that considers the technology and commerce driving these applications from the perspective of those researching and developing the latest technology, defense/security contractors and government defense agencies. This year there will be special emphasis on how RF integrated systems can be designed and deployed into structures such as bulidings, plants, dams, airplanes, airships, UAVs and spacecraft to serve critical infrastructure protection and resilience. 

 Crane Aerospace & Electronics, Power Solutions, will be supplying the Auto-Transformer Rectifier Unit (ATRU) to provide reliable power conversion for the Rockwell Collins Horizontal Stabilizer Control Unit (HSCU) supplied to Embraer.  

 TE Connectivity Ltd. announced it has completed the acquisition of the SEACON group, a leading provider of underwater connector technology and systems.  

Thales Alenia Space Belgium opens its second plant in Belgium, at Leuven.

NEC Corp. has opened a new Satellite Integration Center for the assembly, integration and testing of satellites at its existing plant in Fuchu City, a suburb of Tokyo, Japan.
