The software improves design productivity and speeds circuit and electromagnetic simulation performance. ADS 2016 provides new RF printed circuit board, laminate, module, and silicon RFIC products, as well as technologies, capabilities and other enhancements.

NI announced the NI PXIe-4081 7½-digit high-performance DMM and 1.8 MS/s isolated digitizer. The NI PXIe-4081 is the first PXI Express DMM available. It offers engineers the flexibility, resolution and isolation needed to tackle challenging applications that require smarter test systems. The NI PXIe-4081 is the industry’s most accurate 7½-digit DMM, with an industry-leading 15 ppm accuracy for DC V measurements up to two years after calibration.
Keysight Technologies Inc. introduced two software updates for its real-time oscilloscope products. The software updates are currently available in the Infiniium oscilloscope firmware version 5.60. The N8827A PAM-4 analysis software update adds bit error ratio (BER) capabilities for 4-level pulse amplitude modulation (PAM-4) based signals. The N8834A MultiScope software update adds support for Keysight’s InfiniiVision oscilloscopes.
Anritsu Company introduces software packages for its all-in-one radio communication analyzer MT8821C that support LTE-advanced UE downlink (DL) 4 x 4 MIMO and downlink carrier aggregation (DL CA) 5 CCs. The new software packages further strengthen the test functionality of the MT8821C and help create a single-instrument solution that can speed time to market and lower test costs of LTE-advanced chipsets, smartphones, tablets and M2M modules used in IoT applications.
Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS) today announced a four-level pulsed amplitude modulation (PAM-4) capability for the Keysight EEs of EDA Advanced Design System (ADS) Channel Simulator. The introduction of this capability further advances Keysight’s leadership position in IBIS-AMI SerDes channel simulation. With Keysight’s new ADS PAM-4 capability, system designers can now use PAM-4 IBIS-AMI models within the industry standard ADS Channel Simulator.
FEKO, now part of Altair HyperWorks, is available under Altair’s patented on-demand software licensing system. Users can run multiple HyperWorks applications (including FEKO) and other Altair products for a flat rate, rather than paying for each license in use. As part of Altair’s portfolio, the FEKO version number will jump from FEKO Suite 7.0 to FEKO 14.0 to align with HyperWorks 14.0, the next version of HyperWorks.
Keysight Technologies Inc. introduced a wireless power transfer analysis option for its E5072A, E5061B, and E5063A ENA series network analyzers. With this software option, the ENA series network analyzers are now able to effectively address the needs of emerging wireless power transfer (WPT) markets. A key factor in designing WPT devices is the performance of the power transfer efficiency between coupled coils and resonators.
Keysight Technologies Inc. announced it is collaborating with the University of Bristol on 5G millimeter-wave research. The collaboration combines Bristol’s leading-edge wireless research with Keysight’s deep experience and capability in millimeter-wave and ultra-broadband simulation, design, test and measurement. The work will contribute to the development of the new capabilities needed for 5G.
