The miniature multi-lambda 100G Receiver Optical Sub-Assembly (ROSA), designed for CFP4 or QSFP28 transceivers, will be featured by Huber+Suhner Cube Optics (CUBO) at the ECOC 2015 exhibition (27 September to 1 October) in Valencia, Spain.

The Cube Optics miniature ROSA is said to set the standard for next generation pluggable transceivers and is an exciting solution for both data center and client side applications, especially where space and power is at a premium. It yields superior performance in a robust, reliable design, measuring 18 x 6.5 x 6 mm and with typical power consumption of 330 mW.

At ECOC booth No 310, CUBO will launch its ROSA alongside an extensive range of high performance optical solutions, including passive fiber optic components, such as CWDM and DWDM multiplexers. The company will also show couplers, switches and PLC components, and its 40G and 100G Base LR4 WDM and LAN-WDM multiplexers for 40G/100G LR4 transceivers.

The ROSA incorporates optical de-multiplexer, integrated four PIN detectors and an array quad Trans-Impedance Amplifier (TIA). It receives parallel optical LAN WDM signals, each propagating at 28.3 Gbps over a single optical fiber. Engineering samples have already been released to customers in Q2/2015; production is now starting in Q4.

“The market is moving more and more to smaller transceiver form factors for 100G communications and our products are specially designed for these high speed requirements within applications where space is tight and miniaturized components that are robust, reliable and easy to handle are a necessity,” explained Sven Krüger of HUBER+SUHNER Cube Optics.

“Our new multi-lambda 100G ROSA is the latest in a long range of products designed specifically for these markets and applications and it is already attracting global interest.”

Cube Optics became part of Huber+Suhner, a global leader in connectivity solutions, at the end of 2014 and its products are integrated into many global deployments. The company manufactures miniaturized fiber optic components, modules and systems for use in data and telecommunications networks (Metro Core, Access, Enterprise, CATV, 3G telephone, Datacomms).

Products are also applied in wavelength selective sensing applications in the oil and gas market, medical applications, military, security and safety equipment. With a wide range of products available Huber+Suhner Cube Optics is a preferred supplier to many OEM manufacturers as well as network operators.

Other key exhibits include customized OEM modules and an innovative break-out cable solution incorporating a 40G CWDM MUX with two four-channel CWDM multiplexers (mux and demux).
