Anritsu Co. announces the appointment of Dr. Alexander Chenakin as director of R&D for the Anritsu Microwave Measurement Division (MMD). A renowned expert in the test and measurement industry who holds multiple patents and has earned numerous awards, Dr. Chenakin will oversee the Anritsu R&D team responsible for developing the company’s next-generation synthesized source product line.

Dr. Chenakin is well recognized in the field of frequency synthesis and is referred to as the inventor of QuickSyn® technology. In 2009, he received the ARMMS RF & Microwave Society’s best contribution award for his work on fast-switching frequency synthesizers. His career was duly acknowledged in the 50th anniversary issue of Microwaves & RF, which featured "People Who Made it Happen."

“Dr. Chenakin’s vast experience in the test and measurement industry makes him uniquely qualified to contribute to satisfying our customers who need advanced signal synthesis product solutions to meet their design requirements. He is considered by many to be a signal synthesis guru due to his involvement in developing many trailblazing signal generator products,” said Donn Mulder, senior vice president and general manager of Anritsu MMD.

The professional achievements of Dr. Chenakin have been widely presented in trade publications and international conferences. He has written more than 40 technical articles and holds two U.S. patents. In addition, Dr. Chenakin is the author of an Artech House published textbook on frequency synthesizers.

Dr. Chenakin earned his degree from Kiev Polytechnic Institute. He is a senior IEEE member and has been an invited speaker for several IEEE-sponsored events.
