Fujitsu Semiconductor Europe (FSEU) and MSC Vertriebs GmbH have signed a pan-European distribution agreement. By adding the FSEU product portfolio to its distribution programme, MSC is continuing its decades-long tradition of acting as a European distribution partner to Japanese semiconductor manufacturers.

To begin with, the partnership will focus primarily on Fujitsu’s wide range of ARM Cortex-based 8, 16 and 32 bit microcontrollers for a variety of industrial embedded control applications as well as its extensive portfolio of ferroelectric RAM solutions (FRAMs).

Since 1980, Fujitsu Semiconductor Europe has developed semiconductor solutions specially designed to meet the needs of the European market. With its microcontrollers, graphics controllers, multimedia ICs, ASICs, FRAMs and extensive embedded software portfolio, FSEU has made a name for itself as an important partner to key European customers in the automotive, industrial, communications and home entertainment segments.

Like FSEU, MSC has decades of experience and wide-ranging development and application expertise in the fields of MCUs and memory. This makes the company a valued distribution partner who will be able to expand FSEU’s market position in the OEM sector to other customer segments. Customers will benefit from this in two ways: Not only will MSC help them choose the most suitable microcontrollers or memory ICs for their respective applications; they will also receive active support throughout the design process.

“MSC has been one of the four largest component distributors in Europe for years, not least because we have focused on a comparatively small number of core areas. Customers and suppliers alike benefit from our outstanding consultation and technical support in these areas,” explained Thomas Klein, Director Distribution at MSC.

Alan Burdis, Director Sales & Supply Chain at FSEU, added, “The name Fujitsu Semiconductor Europe stands for innovative components and system solutions as well as the highest levels of quality, reliability and sustainability. MSC is a distribution partner who not only shares these values but is also in a position to provide customers with expert support in every phase of product development, from evaluation to the completed product design. Our partnership with MSC goes far beyond a traditional distribution agreement and will enable us to make our products – some of which require extensive customer support – available to a much wider customer base.”
