Skyworks secures hi-rel designs with multiple A&D manufacturers

Skyworks Solutions Inc. an innovator of high performance analog semiconductors enabling a broad range of end markets, announced that is has captured high-reliability (hi-rel) and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) sockets with several aerospace and defense suppliers such as Cobham, EADS, Herley and Teledyne.  Skyworks’ solutions are being leveraged for microwave switching, attenuation, receiver protection and mixer and detector applications in commercial and military radios, avionics systems, software defined radios and navigation platforms that support major tier-one aerospace and defense companies such as Boeing, L-3 Communications, Northrup Grumman and Raytheon.

Ball Aerospace Green Propellant Mission to test new thermal insulation

NASA’s Green Propellant Infusion Mission (GPIM) has been selected to test an advanced form of thermal insulation, called integrated multi-layer insulation (IMLI) that could become standard on future satellites and cryogenic subsystems. Validating this new insulation in space will help NASA build the technology required for long human spaceflight missions. Under a subcontract from Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp., Quest Thermal Group LLC will manufacture the new insulation that will fly aboard the 2015 GPIM mission.

Molex completes acquisition of FCT Electronics Group

Molex Inc., a global electronics components company, announced that it has completed the acquisition of FCT Electronics Group, based in Munich, Germany.  FCT Electronics Group specializes in designing and manufacturing custom mixed-layout connectors and cable assemblies.
