Newtec, an innovator in the satellite and communications industry, announced that Tellitec has become a fully integrated subsidiary of the Newtec group, bringing with it an extensive range of IP software solutions. Newtec is a Belgian group of companies of which Newtec Cy N.V. is the parent company. Tellitec is made up of Tellitec Communications bvba, based in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, and Tellitec Engineering GmbH, based in Berlin, Germany.
The move cements the existing relationship between the two companies, which has seen a number of Tellitec products integrated into some of Newtec’s most innovative technologies. Tellitec’s TCP/IP acceleration, traffic shaping and security software are all utilised in Newtec’s award winning triple play system, Sat3Play. Tellitec’s software is also used in conjunction with Newtec’s professional equipment in many satellite systems for applications such as IP trunking and digital signage.
Newtec CEO Serge Van Herck said, “With the integration of Tellitec and its IP software technologies, Newtec continues to articulate its commercial strategy around three core product divisions – equipment, systems and software. This move will enable us to enhance the products and service we offer and is key to driving the next phase of growth of the business – to offer customers an end-to-end solution from a single supplier.”
Tellitec CEO, Christian Zanoth, added, “We expect the transitional period to run smoothly as there will be no effect on any existing commercial agreements or contracts. Existing customers will receive the same high level of technical support and will continue to liaise with their usual contacts.”
The Tellitec product portfolio is made up of software components for IP-based data communication for satellite, cable and wireless networks. Following the integration with Newtec, Tellitec products will retain Tellitec as the product family name, but the products will be sold under the Newtec brand. Some Tellitec software will also be integrated into IP appliances and made available in Newtec’s Elevation family of satellite IP products, which also include IP Modems and receivers. All Tellitec products will now be available directly from Newtec’s local sales offices.
