Teledyne Microwave, an industry leader in the design, development and manufacturing of microwave components and integrated subsystems, expands its product offerings through the recent acquisition of certain assets of KW Microwave, a manufacturer of defense microwave components and subsystems. Located in Carlsbad, CA, the business will operate as Teledyne KW Microwave. Teledyne will be exhibiting the newly acquired Teledyne KW Microwave product line at booth #621.

Teledyne KW Microwave designs and manufactures high performance microwave filters and integrated filter assemblies that are used in commercial and defense avionics, ground-based radar, air traffic control radar systems, airborne radar, Global Positioning System equipment, missile systems and wireless base station systems.

Teledyne KW Microwave currently occupies a 23,000 sq. ft. facility in Carlsbad, CA, where design, development and manufacturing is conducted. The facility has been certified to meet the Quality Assurance Management criteria of ISO 9001:2000 by National Quality Assurance, USA. This certification applies to Teledyne KW Microwave's Quality Management System for the design, development and production of RF and microwave components and subsystems.

"KW Microwave's products and capabilities are very complementary to those of Teledyne Microwave and Teledyne's other defense electronic companies," said Robert Mehrabian, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Teledyne Technologies. "Teledyne Microwave develops and manufactures custom microwave products that perform multiple functions, including amplification, switching and frequency conversion, in a single integrated module. Many of these modules require the use of increasingly sophisticated microwave filters, and the addition of KW Microwave's capabilities for specialized low-loss, compact lumped-element filters will significantly strengthen Teledyne Microwave."
