The number of 5G subscribers in South Korea hit the 2 million mark this week, four months after local carriers commercially launched the technology, local press reported citing data from the industry.

Keysight Technologies Inc. announced that the company's 5G network emulation solutions deliver a leading number of 5G new radio (NR) protocol conformance test cases validated by the Global Certification Forum (GCF) and PTCRB, a certification forum consisting of leading U.S. mobile operators.

The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) added 46 additional Huawei affiliates to the “entity list” today, meaning exporting products from the U.S. to any of these organizations and individuals requires an export license — with BIS warning the going-in presumption is that any license application will be denied. BIS also extended the temporary license provision by 90 days, allowing companies and consumers using Huawei equipment to find other options.

FCC Chairman Ajit Pai has proposed the FCC maintain the existing health standards for exposure to RF radiation. The recommendation is supported by Jeffrey Shuren, Director of the Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health.

The GSA Research team have identified 100 announced 5G devices in total, excluding regional variants and prototypes not expected to be commercialised. This is a major milestone for the 5G device ecosystem.
