Hittite Microwave Corp., a supplier of complete MMIC-based solutions for communication and military markets, announces the release of a ceramic SMT packaged GaAs PHEMT SP4T (Single Pole, Four Throw) MMIC switch that is ideal for industrial sensors, test and measurement, microwave radio, military EW and space applications from DC to 20 GHz.

The HMC641LC4 is a GaAs PHEMT MMIC SP4T switch that is rated for operation from DC to 20 GHz. This wideband, non-reflective switch exhibits 2.1 dB insertion loss and 42 dB isolation at midband, and features an on-chip binary decoder that requires only two control lines. High P1dB and input IP3 performance of +23 and +39 dBm, respectively, make the HMC641LC4 ideal for applications requiring wide bandwidth and moderate to high linearity. The HMC641LC4 SP4T accepts control voltages of 0 and -5 V, and consumes only 3 mA. This versatile high isolation switch requires no external matching components and is compatible with high volume surface mount manufacturing techniques.

The HMC641LC4 MMIC SP4T switch is housed in a ceramic RoHS compliant 4 x 4 mm SMT package, and complements Hittite’s broad line of GaAs MMIC switch products that are available in die, SMT and connectorized module formats with operating frequencies from DC to 86 GHz.
