Akoustis Technologies, Inc. announced that it has started sampling a new C-V2X filter solution, the A10159, designed for use at 5.9 GHz covering band 47. The filter is currently being sampled and is expected to ramp production in Q4 of calendar 2023.

The newly developed filter solution is a high-performance XBAW® RF filter and is being produced in Akoustis’ New York manufacturing facility. The A10159 is designed to enable coexistence with Wi-Fi and 5G bands and meet the stringent rejection requirements of C-V2X and DSRC standards. Additionally, the A10159 delivers low insertion loss passband performance and enables high-power handling capabilities that establish long-range connectivity for modern wireless communication applications. The A10159 will be offered as a standard catalog product, targeting automotive, C-V2X systems, DSRC/802.11p high-power systems, telematics and infotainment.

Dave Aichele, EVP of business development of Akoustis, stated, "We are excited to introduce the A10159, our latest RF filter that utilizes our patented XBAW® technology." Aichele continued, “Akoustis is a valuable supplier of RF components to multiple end markets – the superior performance of the A10159, combined with its small form factor and rugged design, makes it an ideal solution for the automotive market.”

The A10159 product features:

  • AEC-Q200 Grade 2 expected upon production release
  • Ultra small form factor 1.1 x 0.9 x 0.39 mm
  • Single-ended Tx/Rx ports
  • Ultra-steep skirts for best OOB rejection to enable coexistence with Wi-Fi and 5G bands
  • Low insertion loss passband filter
  • Performance over -40℃ to +105℃
  • RoHS compliant, Pb-free package.

Akoustis is currently ramping commercial production and is investing to achieve annual production capacity of approximately 500 million units. Akoustis is actively delivering volume production of its Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E tandem filter solutions, shipping multiple 5G small cell XBAW® filter solutions and delivering initial designs of its new 5G mobile filter solutions to multiple customers. To date, Akoustis has received more than 20 customer design wins for its patented XBAW® filter solutions.
