IQE plc, a leading supplier of compound semiconductor wafer products and advanced material solutions, has appointed Christine Dunbar as vice president of U.S. Sales.

The decision to appoint Dunbar follows an extensive search process led by Wayne Johnson, executive vice president of Sales and Business Development. With over two decades of experience working with multinational tech companies in the semiconductor industry, Christine has the expertise required to lead execution of IQE’s U.S. sales strategy, further capitalizing on the group’s position as the scaled global epitaxy leader.

Dunbar joins IQE from the executive team at GlobalFoundries Inc. (GF) Dunbar joined GF in 2015 as vice president of product management upon GF’s acquisition of IBM’s Microelectronics Division, where she was responsible for the Specialty Foundry Business. She led the transition of this business and client base into the GF RF portfolio, establishing the foundation for GF’s industry leadership in this area. Dunbar was also an executive sponsor of the GlobalWomen employee resource group.

Johnson commented, ‘’The depth and breadth of Christine’s industry expertise provide her with an ideal background from which to lead our U.S. business in its next stage of growth. Her appointment will enable us to build upon our solid industry foundations and market-leading positions, and take advantage of key structural drivers and opportunities associated with the proliferation of 5G, electric vehicles and the IoT.’’

Dunbar commented, “Now is the time for compound semiconductors, and at IQE I am joining a team of true technology pioneers. Today, IQE technologies are driving innovation in the key growth markets that are changing the world, like connectivity, power and next-generation displays. I look forward to partnering with our customers–the global market leaders—to provide game-changing innovation and business outcomes, leveraging IQEs world-class team and capabilities.”
