RFMW Ltd. announces design and sales support for a high-performance, X-band, T/R module. Designed for next-generation AESA radar applications, the Qorvo QPM1002 incorporates a T/R switch, low noise amplifier and power amplifier in a 5 x 5 mm QFN package for tight spacing requirements.

The QPM1002 performs well in high temperature environments due to 0.25 um GaN-on-SiC fabrication. Saturated, pulsed output power from the transmit amplifier is 35 dBm with small signal gain of 33 dB. Noise figure on the receive side is 2.2 dB with small signal gain of 25 dB.

Input power survivability is up to 2 W without permanent damage, compared with a typical GaAs LNA, which can be damaged by less than 100 mW. Operating over 8.5 to 10.5 GHz, this module offers higher efficiency, reliability, power and survivability, as well as savings in size, weight and cost for mission critical radar system designs.
