Skyworks has launched a 0.4 to 5.9 GHz, low loss, DPDT switch designed for smartphones, data cards and MiFi® hotspots. According to Skyworks, the SKY13698-694LF has the lowest insertion loss of any high isolation antenna swap switch currently available. Insertion loss at 1 GHz is 0.27 dB. Isolation is 30 dB at 3.8 GHz, mitigating signal leakage that can "desense" the receiver.
The SKY13698-694LF has excellent harmonic and linearity performance (75 dBm IIP3, typical) and handles GSM power levels. With frequency coverage to 5.9 GHz, the switch is the first cellular antenna swap device to support new high band applications, such as LAA/LTE-U.
The switch is easy to use: no blocking capacitors or matching components are required, and switching is controlled with a single positive voltage between 1.35 and 2.8 V. It is packaged in a compact 1.83 × 1.83 × 0.5 mm QFN.
