AtlanTecRF has launched the ASY-0050-2000 miniature 0.5-20.0 GHz frequency synthesizer with GUI, which features minimum set-up and easy operation. In addition to the ultra broadband range the 2.5 x 2.5 x 1.1 inch housing is packed with performance including 1 kHz step size, +/-0.5ppm frequency stability over a -10º to +70ºC operating temperature range and RS485 control with easy-to-use GUI.

As an option to the internal TXCO reference, units can be supplied with an input for an external 10 MHz system reference of 0+/-3 dBm, with which the synthesizer takes on the system frequency stability. In terms of spectral purity, this new model boasts typical phase noise of -85vdBc/Hz at 10 Hz offset in the 500 MHz end of its spectrum and -120 dBc/Hz at 10 MHz offset at the opposite 20 GHz end.

Speaking at the product’s launch at AtlanTecRF’s design and development labs in Braintree, UK, the company’s CEO, Geoff Burling said, “This really is a very exciting development in our miniature synthesizer product offering, which we expect to be attractive to system designers in test and measurement, in electronic countermeasures and in a whole range of terrestrial and satellite communications applications.”

The ASY-0050-2000 operates from a +5.0V DC supply, drawing just 1 A of current. The RF output and reference input connectors are SMA female and DC connection is via robust solder filtercons.
