API Technologies Corp., a leading provider of high performance RF/microwave, power and security solutions for critical and high-reliability applications, will showcase a wide variety of the company's latest high reliability, engineer-friendly products during the 2014 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium.  API will be in Booth 1515 during the exhibition, which takes place June 3-5 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Florida.

An innovator in signal technology, API Technologies offers one of the industry's largest selections of standard, configurable, and custom RF, microwave, millimeter wave systems, subsystems, modules, and sophisticated components. Designed to provide both exceptional performance and value, API Technologies' award-winning microwave and microelectronics products are used for commercial aviation platforms, medical and industrial devices, wireless and broadband solutions, satellites and space exploration, and a broad range of defense applications, including Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA) radar, satellite communication (SATCOM), C4ISR and electronic warfare (EW), and GPS.

Rick Graham, vice president and general manager, RF/Microwave & Microelectronics US, API Technologies, said, “Our aim is to provide fast prototype, easily configurable microwave solutions that combine quality and affordability. Our focus on the engineer and contributing to his/her project's success is evident in the wide range of products we’ll be showcasing at IMS.”

Kerri Fabin, vice president of worldwide sales, API Technologies, said, “IMS gathers the RF, microwave, and millimeter wave industry's top researchers and practitioners from across the globe, and as such, mandates the latest in technological innovations be showcased.  API Technologies is pleased to have this opportunity to bring together our breadth of products including some of our most cost-effective, reliable products.”

Products to be featured include:

Amplifiers

API's full line of amplifiers and power amplifiers bring both high power and small signal solutions to customers in the most demanding markets (i.e., military, medical, commercial, industrial).  This includes the recently releasedBroadband 8 – 12 GHz Limiting Amplifier that is ideally suited for demanding military requirements and high-end commercial applications like microwave receivers, microwave telemetry systems uplink communications platforms, instrumentation, as well as military communications systems.

Microelectronics

API offers a wide variety of services and technologies, including thin film and thick film, power conversion and regulation, as well as the latest in SAW technology. API’s microelectronic facilities are certified MIL-PRF-38534 Class H, and Class K.

Filters & Switched Filter Banks

With a long heritage in designing and manufacturing the most challenging RF & microwave filters on the market, API's custom and standard filters are used in public safety products, wireless and broadband communication services, as well as in major defense and space applications. At IMS, API will be highlighting its latest Switched Filter Banksthat allow customers to specify frequency bands, ranging from 2 to 7 channels. This specification shortens lead times to as fast as four weeks, and ultimately reduces customer development cycle time, resulting in cost savings and faster time to market.

Integrated Microwave Assemblies

One of the leading providers of IMA solutions for radar, electronic warfare, and communication applications, API's high performance Integrated Microwave Assemblies (IMA) include filter-based, signal conversion, and oscillator-based assemblies including the company's recently released line of radiation tolerant voltage controlled Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) Oscillators (VCSO). The first radiation hardened SAW VCSOs to be manufactured utilizing a MIL-PRF-38534 Class K certified facility; these IMAs are ideal for space, satellite communications, and aerospace systems.

System-Level-Ready Solutions

API's modular Active Antenna Array Unit (AAAU) for Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Radar features interchangeable Quad Transmit Receive Modules (QTRMs) that come fully calibrated, making them line replaceable for decreased system downtime and lower cost of ownership.

The AAAU, as well as other system-level-ready solutions from API, provide solutions for a wide range of applications including mission critical radar, EW systems, SATCOM, and air traffic control.
