L-com Inc., a designer and manufacturer of wired and wireless connectivity products has introduced two new HyperLink® brand horizontal polarized waveguide omnidirectional antennas. These rugged new 2.4 GHz antennas are available in 9 dBi and 13 dBi versions.

These waveguide antennas feature very low loss which makes them very efficient to operate. In addition the horizontally polarized design is ideal for use in areas susceptible to the affects of interference generated by commonly used vertically polarized wireless LAN equipment. With the reduction of this interference better wireless reception can be achieved. Additional features include rugged UV-resistant PVC radomes designed for all weather operation and come with steel mast mounting brackets.

"The amount of 2.4 GHz band signals in some areas leads to a lot of vertical polarized interference, which can degrade signal quality," said Patrick Pesa, Director of Product Management. "With these antennas, we're offering a broad, omnidirectional coverage that is horizontal polarized to overcome much of this interference."

The new WU-series antennas are stocked in L-com's Florida HyperLink distribution center for same-day shipment. Engineering drawings, 3-D CAD models, datasheets, and more are all available for free download from L-com's website.
