SANTA CLARA, Calif., Nov. 2, 2010 -- Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced the release of its IO Libraries Suite 16.0 software. The new release connects to more types of instruments and features discover-and-connect capabilities for PXI chassis and instruments using Agilent Connection Expert (ACE).

For higher speed instruments, IO Libraries Suite 16.0 now supports HiSLIP (High-Speed LAN protocol) offering VXI-11 functionality for instrument control at the speed of raw TCP/IP sockets. Other features include an easier way to find and update device drivers, IVI® driver tracing, IVI USBTMC signed driver and automatic update notification.

“Agilent is committed to providing easy connection to customer-preferred technologies, from VXI, RS-232, USB and LAN to PXI,” said Bob Witte, Agilent vice president, Technology Leadership Organization. “This is our sixteenth major revision of the IO Libraries Suite and we continue to enhance the capabilities of the suite, maximizing choice of instruments, and test software efficiency.”

Agilent’s IO Libraries Suite makes connecting to instruments fast, easy and reliable. The software:
