Rohde & Schwarz presents its comprehensive product portfolio at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain (hall 1, booth 1D33). The company offers manufacturers and network operators customized solutions for all common wireless standards. The products are ideal for applications in development, conformance testing, production and network optimization. Rohde & Schwarz once again underscores its position as the industry leader with the introduction of test and measurement options for the latest LTE standards. The T&M expert offers LTE product testing solutions for every phase of the market launch process.
Installers and operators of LTE infrastructures and their service providers need to be able to check the data throughput and transmission quality of the new mobile radio networks. Moreover, handover tests are necessary to ensure smooth transitions between networks that use different mobile radio standards. The new version of R&S ROMES provides a complete LTE drive test solution. The software accesses data from the R&S TSMW LTE scanner or an LTE USB test terminal. When performing drive tests for network optimization, test engineers are able to measure the transmission rate and transmission quality at all test points along the measurement route. The LTE test terminals have multiple antennas and support multiple input multiple output (MIMO) transmission as specified in the LTE standard.
The R&S FSH4 and R&S FSH8 handheld analyzers from Rohde & Schwarz offer a full range of functions for installing and servicing LTE mobile radio networks. With these handheld analyzers, users can now perform spectral and modulation analysis in the LTE frequency division duplex (FDD) and time division duplex (TDD) modes. The new options provide a more detailed view of LTE signals than is possible with instruments from other manufacturers. This is a significant advantage during troublshooting. The R&S FSH4 and R&S FSH8 analyzers support all key LTE measurements such as single input single output (SISO) and 4x4 MIMO transmission. They are the only handeld analyzers on the market that can analyze the complete LTE frame with up to 10 subframes in line with the standard. And they are the only ones that support extended cyclic prefix as defined in the standard. The extended cyclic code prefix is used, for example, in large radio cells that have high delay spread and are located on the outskirts of highly populated areas.
Wideband radio communication tester with new LTE eHRPD handover options for user equipment testing Rohde & Schwarz has enhanced its R&S CMW500 multistandard platform and now offers options for testing the handover between LTE and 1xEV-DO networks. All tests are carried out in line with the 3GPP2 enhanced high-rate packet data (eHRPD) specifications. These test are of interest in particular for manufacturers who address the American and Asian markets with their user equipment or chipsets. In America and Asia, LTE technology is currently being integrated into existing CDMA2000® environments. The new LTE user equipment for these networks must reliably function in CDMA2000 cells, too. During handover testing, the R&S CMW500 can also simulate a real IP connection. This allows test engineers to determine whether a device continuously transmits IP user data on both networks during handover.
On February 14, a press day will be held for journalists at the Rohde & Schwarz booth 1D33 in hall 1.
