Tantalum HybridÒ Capacitors for High- Volume Applications

Extended Life Tantalum Hybrid Capacitor

Approaches were investigated for extending the operating life of Tantalum Hybrid faradaic/dielectric capacitors by reducing electrochemical changes that limit life. This work concentrates on electrolytic additives designed to eliminate or greatly suppress hydrogen formation that normally results from potentiostatic leakage current. Sample capacitors with electrolytes containing hydrogen limiting reagents were subjected to accelerated aging conditions. The results are compared to similar tests on standard capacitors with no electrolyte additives.

Tantalum HybridÒ Capacitors for High–Power Applications

Tantalum Hybrid capacitors are among the most powerful capacitors available. A new tantalum Hybrid capacitor, having a peak power density of 1.6 MW/l has been developed. The new hermetic capacitor has innovative packaging features that minimize non-active components and allow reliable assembly. The thin, flat package also tends to minimize electrical resistance while maximizing heat dissipation. This unique capacitor combines the high cell voltage capability and low resistance of an electrolytic capacitor with the increased energy density of an electrochemical capacitor.

Model C8188-102 20 dB Uni-Directional Coupler

Model C8188-102 is a Uni-Directional Coupler that covers a full 30-3000 MHz bandwidth, and rated at 20 W CW. Operating at a tight coupling factor of 20 dB, this model incurs only 2.4 dB of insertion loss, and supplies 18 dB minimum of directivity.
