Verotec contributes to THAAD systems

Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) is a U.S. Army anti-ballistic missile system designed to shoot down short, medium, and intermediate ballistic missiles in their terminal phase using a hit-to-kill approach. The interceptor missile carries no warhead, but relies on the kinetic energy of the direct impact to destroy the incoming threat. Verotec has supplied Lockheed with custom 4U, 750 mm deep 19 inch VPX chassis that houses a signal integrity testing subsystem, the reconfigurable and analogue Self Test Subsystem.

Raytheon helps MDA counter ballistic missile threat with delivery of 8th AN/TPY-2 radar

Raytheon Co. delivered its eighth AN/TPY-2 radar to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in support of the U.S. combatant commands. An integral capability of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS), AN/TPY-2 is a mobile, X-band phased-array radar that helps protect the U.S., deployed forces, and America's friends and allies by searching, acquiring and tracking threat ballistic missiles and discriminating between threats and non-threats.
