Raytheon broadens cyber capabilities with acquisition of Foreground Security

 Raytheon Co. announced it has acquired Herndon, Virginia-based Foreground Security, a leading provider of security operations centers (SOCs), managed security service solutions and cybersecurity professional services.  The acquired company, which will be called Raytheon Foreground Security (RFS), accelerates Raytheon's expansion into managed security services across federal, international and commercial markets. Raytheon delivers next-generation SATCOM radio for certification testing

 The U.S. Army has awarded Raytheon Co. a $36 million contract to fund the certification and testing of a significant upgrade to the AN/ARC-231 Multi-Mode Communications System. The upgraded systems will provide the highest level of security for voice and data communications for more than 7,000 rotary, fixed wing and unmanned Army platforms – including Apaches, Blackhawks, Chinooks and Gray Eagles.

Raytheon successfully prototypes AESA/GaN technologies into Patriot radar

 Raytheon Co. demonstrated their successful prototyping of Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) and Gallium Nitride (GaN) technologies into the US Patriot Air and Missile Defense System radar. In addition to enabling future 360 sensor coverage, these technologies will significantly increase the defended area and decrease the time to detect, discriminate and engage threats. The introduction of GaN-based AESA technologies will also further improve reliability and lower the life cycle costs for the Patriot radar, beyond what has already been achieved with other recent Patriot radar improvements.

Raytheon selected to demonstrate next generation, modular radar system

Raytheon Co. has been awarded a $6 million study and demonstration contract by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) to further develop an Enterprise Air Surveillance Radar (EASR). Raytheon's EASR concept leverages proven Radar Modular Assembly (RMA) architecture matured on Air and Missile Defense Radar (AMDR). EASR's flexible approach meets the performance needs of different candidate ship classes for ship self-defense, situational awareness, air traffic control, and weather monitoring.
