The global wireless BTS infrastructure market revenues for the top OEMs grew by 3.7 percent for the third quarter of 2008 to $12.2 B compared with the third quarter of 2007, according to the latest report from EJL Wireless Research titled "Global Wireless OEM Financial Results Q3 2008."

"The market experienced a decline on a sequential basis of 12 percent as all wireless equipment vendors were impacted by the Summer Olympic Games in China," says founder and president, Earl Lum. The report provides a unique perspective on the global wireless infrastructure revenues for major wireless OEMs, including Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia Siemens Networks, Nortel Networks and ZTE.

"Given the undeniable decline in cap ex spending by mobile operators due to the global financial crisis, we believe that weakness could continue into Q4 and that overall revenues in USD may be flat to down 1 to 2 percent for 2008 compared with our prior outlook of 5 to 7 percent growth," says Lum.
