As a “preview of coming attractions,” Modelithics Inc. has released a free sample model library for accurate surface-mount capacitor, inductor and resistor component representation within Virtuoso Spectre Circuit Simulator of Cadence (version IC6.1).

The sample library, Modelithics SELECT™, is a collection of models selected from the Modelithics CLR Library™, representing five different popular surface-mount RLC component families. Each Modelithics® equivalent circuit model has been extracted from precision impedance and S-parameter measurements. Modelithics models include advanced features such as part-value scaling, substrate scaling, pad scaling, representation of high-order resonant effects and accurate effective series resistance, and are valid through 10 GHz and higher.

The models in this library are intended for use with microstrip interconnects, custom-model extraction and can be performed through the Models-On-Demand™ service. The Modelithics SELECT Library for Cadence will be posted for individual download at: www.modelithics.com. Modelithics is currently planning to release its full CLR Library for Cadence in Q3 08.
