MFG Galileo Composites, a specialist in the design and manufacturing of custom composite radomes and reflectors, announced that it has been selected by the Spanish Air Force through EMTE Sistemas to supply six 77-foot radomes. The first two radomes are scheduled for delivery in 2008, with the remaining four in quantities of two in 2009 and 2010, respectively.
MFG Galileo Composites is ISO 9001:2000 certified and has produced more than 500 radomes for mission critical sites supporting military, space and scientific programs around the globe. The company’s radome design and manufacturing techniques have been proven in the harshest environments on the planet for surveillance, air traffic control, weather radar, SATCOM, earth observation and telemetry applications.
EMTE Sistemas is a system integrator based in Barcelona, Spain with an established market presence in the design, installation and maintenance of air traffic control systems, tactical and strategic radio communications, radar location and surveillance systems, control systems, and cryptography.
“This new contract marks the first installation in Spain and our first partnership with EMTE Sistemas, two significant events for our company,” said Clint Lackey, general manager, MFG Galileo Composites. “We are looking forward to building our business relationship with EMTE Sistemas and working together on this initial project.”
MFG Galileo Composites, formerly known as MFG Ratech, underwent a major reorganization in 2007. Along with the new name and management structure, the company has invested considerable internal R&D resources into advanced concepts in the design and engineering of composite ground-based radomes.
