TÜVRheinland of North America, Newtown, CT, a provider of independent testing and certification services, received accreditation under the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) for its EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) and telecommunications testing laboratory in Rochester, NY.

Administered by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), NVLAP confirms that a testing lab and its personnel have the technical qualifications and competency to perform specific EMC and telecommunications tests and/or calibrations. The accreditation conforms to all requirements of the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard.

Currently, TÜVRheinland’s North American division operates a total of 15 EMC testing laboratories and two EMC mobile lab units throughout the United States. Other clients come from the information technology, audio/video, home appliance, wireless network, laboratory, mining, military, wireless and telecommunications industries.

The Rochester, NY, office opened its doors in June 2007, after signing an agreement with Rochester-based Eastman Kodak Co. to become its primary supplier of third-party testing and certification services. The facility is equipped with product safety and EMC test equipment, which has been upgraded to meet ever-evolving global standards.
