MilliBox brings to the market a new feature called Fast Synchronized Trigger (FST) for its modular series of 3D antenna positioner GIM04 and GIM05. FST is a physical link between the positioner azimuth controller and a measurement instrument trigger input. This dedicated link allows the instrument to take snapshot captures of the antenna radiation pattern on the fly, eliminating the need for stop-and-go motion. Because the over-the-air radiation pattern is collected on the fly the acquisition time is drastically reduced.

This breakthrough innovation works with most brands of instruments when they support input trigger functions. Not only is the capture time greatly reduced but also the overall motion is smooth and removes the stress on the antenna under test and wiring.

MilliBox is taking orders for FST option on any new version of GIM04 and GIM05 but also offers retrofit options for all existing products in the field. This way, the entire market can benefit from FST accelerated captures.

“Fast Synchronized Trigger was an idea we had in mind for a long time”, says Jeanmarc Laurent, Vice President and founder of MilliBox, “but we needed real-time position synchronization pulses on the gimbal side, and this was eluding us. Now, large captures are at least 10x faster, which is a very significant time savings for our customers, and we want as many users as possible to benefit from this breakthrough.”
