Mini-Circuits announced the appointment of Joseph Merenda as the company’s first Research & Development Fellow, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s long-term commitment to engineering excellence and technical innovation.
The Fellow role will be a cornerstone of Mini-Circuits’ strategy to develop next-generation technologies, foster collaboration across engineering disciplines, and deepen the company’s technical leadership in the RF and microwave industry.
A 40-year industry veteran, Merenda is widely recognized for his contributions to RF and microwave system design, product innovation and technical leadership. He has served in senior engineering roles across multiple organizations, authored numerous technical papers, webinars and filed several patents. Since joining Mini-Circuits in 2017, Merenda has played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s product line and shaping its technology roadmap.
“Joe’s appointment as our first R&D Fellow formalizes the impact he has already had on our technical direction and positions Mini-Circuits for continued innovation in the years ahead,” said CEO Jin Bains. “His expertise, leadership, and vision have shaped many engineering advancements, and he will further strengthen our ability to meet evolving customer needs in this new role.”
As R&D Fellow, Merenda will guide long-range technology decisions, lead research initiatives and drive innovation aligned with future customer requirements. He will serve as an ambassador for Mini-Circuits in the broader engineering and scientific community, scouting research trends and representing the company’s intellectual nucleus in public forums. As a resident thought leader and a mentor to Mini-Circuits engineers, Merenda’s appointment establishes a formal foundation for more Fellows to emerge as the organization continues to grow.
