With the growing demands on public safety and emergency communications, FirstNet®, built with AT&T, continues to expand its reach and reliability, solidifying its role as the communications backbone for America’s first responders and the communities they protect.

In the third quarter of 2025, FirstNet added approximately 300,000 new connectionsbringing its total to more than 7.8 million nationwide. The network also welcomed about 300 new public safety agencies and organizations, surpassing 30,600 in total participation. 

“All of this data is proof that first responders across the country continue to rely on FirstNet’s dedicated and secure communications platform to stay connected when it matters most,” said Sheriff Bob White (Ret) of Brooksville, Fla.  “Every new connection represents a stronger, safer community. FirstNet is more than just technology; it’s about giving first responders the confidence and capability to protect the people they serve.”

FirstNet’s coverage now spans more than 2.99 million square milesextending over 250,000 square miles beyond its nearest competitorThe network now reaches 99 percent of America’s first respondersAdditionally, 1,000 new Band 14 cell sites have been launched ahead of schedule as part of the network’s 10-year buildout initiative, ensuring expanded coverage and capacity and faster response capabilities even in the most rural and disaster-prone areas.
