Nordic Semiconductor returns to MWC Barcelona 2023, to be staged from February 27 to March 2 at the Fira Gran Via in Barcelona. The mobile industry and technology showpiece provides Nordic with an opportunity to demonstrate its complete suite of low power wireless solutions spanning cellular IoT, Bluetooth® LE, Wi-Fi, Matter, Thread and DECT NR+ IoT technologies.
Over the course of the four day event, Nordic will showcase demonstrations of the nRF9160 SiP which boasts an integrated LTE-M/NB-IoT modem and GNSS, as well as best-in-class low power consumption capabilities that make it ideal for IoT implementations powered by energy harvesting. It will include a hands-on demonstration of Nordic’s unique measurement tools for evaluating, estimating and optimizing power consumption. These tools include the Power Profiler Kit II for power profiling and power optimization of embedded solutions and the Online Power Profiler tool for LTE-M, NB-IoT and GPS, enabling quick and accurate estimates of your cellular IoT-based device’s power consumption.
The ‘ThingyWorld’ demonstration will show how customers can combine the Nordic Thingy:91 cellular IoT prototyping platform, the nRF9160 DK, and the company’s nRF Cloud Location Services to support cellular IoT applications demanding fast and power-efficient location details.
For the connected home, Nordic will demonstrate how to control Matter-enabled smart home accessories on a Matter network using both Apple and Google ecosystems. The demonstration uses both thread and Wi-Fi protocols, as well as Nordic’s brand new nRF7002 DK for the nRF7002 Wi-Fi 6 Companion IC.
For developers designing the latest audio solutions, Nordic will also demonstrate the next generation of Bluetooth wireless streaming, Bluetooth LE Audio, based on the dual-core nRF5340 wireless SoC. For a personal demonstration simply visit Nordic’s booth (Stand 5F41) at Hall 5, Fira Gran Via or request a meeting with Nordic’s on-site sales team.
“Once again, MWC Barcelona will be the ideal setting to demonstrate to our customers and potential customers just how busy Nordic’s R&D teams have been in the past 12 months,” said Geir Langeland, executive vice president of sales and marketing with Nordic Semiconductor. “Nordic is now one of very few global firms that can deliver its customers solutions across all three of the IoT’s foundation technologies–Bluetooth LE, cellular IoT and Wi-Fi. Our team welcomes the opportunity to demonstrate how Nordic’s low power solutions can help customers wirelessly connect anything in the IoT space.”
