mmWave Test Solutions has debuted the second generation (GEN2) of its AC1224 antenna test chamber, an entirely modular design using high performance absorbers—115 mm (5 in.) or 300 mm (12 in.)—tuned for radar, microwave and mmWave antenna testing.

The size of the standard chamber is 2.4 (W) x 2.4 (H) x 3.6 m deep (8 x 8 x 12 ft.). The modular design makes the depth extendable with 1.2 m (4 ft.) modules, so the chamber can easily be extended as test requirements change. A wider, 3.6 m version of the chamber is available, which is also extendable in 1.2 m increments. Enabling scalability, the GEN2 chambers are built with a CNC-machined rigid aluminum frame, which ensures tight tolerances.

The AC1224 can be used in areas where traditional chambers cannot go. With panels only 1.2 x 2.4 m (4 x 8 ft.), the pieces can be carried through narrow doors, on stairways or in elevators. The GEN2 design assembles from the inside out, requiring almost no workspace around the chamber during assembly. This makes the system well-suited for labs, offices and basements with limited space.

The 2.4 and 3.6 m versions are available immediately and ship worldwide. mmWave Test Solutions’ DUO positioners fit the AC1224 chambers.
