pSemi®, a Murata company focused on semiconductor integration, is opening a design center in Chennai, India, to support the company's growing demand for semiconductor products for 5G and IoT applications. The India office will establish a base for a strong engineering team developing design innovations for cellular RF front-end modules, sensor systems-on-a-chip and power management ICs.

Sumit Tomar, pSemi CEO, said, “India is emerging as the largest mobile phone manufacturing hub in the world. With our new India design center, we want to attract top talent and further expand our engagements with customers, partners and the smartphone ecosystem. We have opened our first pSemi India design center in Chennai, but we will soon expand into other cities. We plan to scale up rapidly; our hiring plan is limited only by the availability of talent.”

The design center, which includes labs and office space, is located at Level 9, Olympia Teknos Park, No. 28 SIDCO Industrial Estate, Guindy, Chennai.

The new design center supports pSemi's product growth in 5G, wireless connectivity, power management and sensors, with increased content in smartphones and mobile applications. It will also serve to link pSemi and Murata, leading to higher levels of integration and functionality in IC and package design.
