Communications & Power Industries (CPI) will purchase SATCOM Technologies, the antenna systems business of General Dynamics Mission Systems. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

SATCOM Technologies designs, manufactures and installs antenna systems used in commercial, defense and scientific applications and provides SatCom RF products such as feed components, amplifiers, converters and antenna control systems, as well as engineering and installation services. The business complements CPI's portfolio of communications products for government, military and commercial applications.

SATCOM Technologies has locations in North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Texas, according to the company's website.

The acquisition by CPI is expected to close before the end of 2019 and is subject to various closing conditions.

"Acquiring SATCOM Technologies enables us to provide CPI's customers with a wide range of complementary products, capabilities and resources to support this dynamic and growing market, making it an excellent fit for CPI. These capabilities and resources include extensive expertise in very small aperture terminals (VSAT), large and medium communications antennas and very large, complex antenna systems." — Bob Fickett, president and CEO of CPI
