Richardson RFPD Inc. announces its attendance and participation at EDI CON China 2019, which will include its sponsorships of two 40-minute workshops entitled, “2700 N Horseshoe St5G Small Cells: The evolution of system architecture and its impact on component development" and “GaN: The Future of RF Devices.”

EDI CON brings together RF, microwave, EMC/EMI and high speed digital design engineers and system integrators for networking, training and learning opportunities. Attendees come to EDI CON China to find solutions, products and design ideas that they can put into immediate practice for today's communication, radar, consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace and medical industries.

WHERE

  • Booth 416
  • China National Convention Center
  • Beijing, China

WHEN

  • April 1-3, 2019

WHAT

  • Richardson RFPD will feature several of its industry-leading suppliers at its booth, including Analog Devices, API Technologies, Cinch, Fractus Antennas, Guerrilla RF, MACOM, NXP, pSemi, Radiall, Tagore Technology, TT electronics and Wolfspeed.

The “5G Small Cells: The evolution of system architecture and its impact on component development” workshop, sponsored by Richardson RFPD, is scheduled for:

  • Date: Monday, April 1, 2019
  • Time: 16:45-17:25
  • Location: Room 210

The workshop will be presented by Eric Westberg of NXP Semiconductors and Shi Tianren of Richardson RFPD. The promise of higher data transmission speeds from 5G is leading to a new dramatic rollout of next generation services and small cells will be a featured part of the ecosystem. The challenges to the hardware providers are numerous. Operators are looking for wider bandwidth, higher efficiency and smaller footprint without accepting tradeoffs in form or function. This technical session will account for these factors and demonstrate the development of a 5G small cell that is suitable for the mass market by using conventionally available products.

The “GaN: The Future of RF Devices” workshop, sponsored by Richardson RFPD, is scheduled for:

  • Date: Tuesday, April 2, 2019
  • Time: 13:50-14:30
  • Location: Room 210

The workshop will be presented by Yan Xin and Wang Ziming of Wolfspeed. The performance of GaN RF devices will be reviewed compared to other existing technologies and the system advantages realized across emerging 5G telecom and other radar applications will be explored via examples of improved amplifier performance.
