At the EDI CON 2017 conference in Shanghai, MACOM Technology Solutions Inc. announced seven CATV amplifiers designed for DOCSIS 3.1 distributed and legacy hybrid fiber coax (HFC) networks. The four single-ended and three differential amplifiers cover both the 5 to 300 MHz upstream and 45 to 1218 MHz downstream bands. The amplifiers are packaged in an SOT-89 (single ended models) and SOIC-8EP (differential models), and each family’s layout is compatible to allow flexibility on the same system board. All seven amplifiers cover 5 to 1218 MHz and are biased with +5 V.
