RFMW Ltd. announces design and sales support for a low power, highly integrated, wideband, IQ modulator with integrated fractional-N synthesizer and voltage controlled oscillator (VCO). Qorvo’s RFMD2081 modulator features an input 3 dB bandwidth of 100 MHz, and can generate output frequencies of between 45 and 2700 MHz, making it suitable for a wide range of applications such as satellite communications, QPSK/QAM modulators, wireless broadband, point to point radios and software defined radios (SDR).
The RFMD2081's fractional-N synthesizer offers very low spurious levels with typical step size of 1.5 Hz. Typical noise floor is -162 dBm/Hz. Programable via serial interface, P1dB is 4 dBm and the device runs from a 2.7 to 3.3 V supply consuming 135 mA.
Qorvo offers this I/Q modulator in a compact 5 x 5 mm QFN package.
