Building on its already comprehensive range of portable satellite communications test equipment AtlanTecRF, a leading global RF and microwave components and equipment manufacturer, launched a range of bench instrument Satcom line amplifiers.
The range, which are housed in lightweight bench instrument cases cover a frequency range from 10 MHz to 31 GHz and incorporate all satcom bands including L, S, C, X, Ku and Ka.
All models provide 1 dB gain compression output power of at least +20 dBm with higher output levels optional up to 10 watts. Base models have nominal gain of between 20 dB and 30 dB depending on the frequency range with options available for increased gain to 40 dB minimum.
Gain control can be affected with the optional variable attenuators at input or output and these can be either manual or remote digital.
Speaking at the company’s R&D centre in Braintree, UK, Geoff Burling C.E.O. said “Once again we have put user considerations at the forefront of the design of these portable instruments, which are very easily relocated from one Satcom facility to another”.
All models come in a 260x110x360 mm instrument housing with tilt handle and are operated from 80-240v, 50-60Hz A/C supplies.
Common specifications include +/-0.5 dB gain flatness, -70 dBc spurious and an operating temperature range of between -10c and +50c. All models have SMA (F) input and output connectors as standard with the exception of the Ka band uplink frequencies to 31GHz which use 2.92mm (F).
