Anritsu Corp., market leader in communications test equipment, is pleased to announce that Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX) has selected the MT1100A 100 G/OTU4 Network Master Flex Analyzer. This increases the test and measuring investment that AMS-IX has made with Anritsu following on from the two MD1260A 100G IP/Ethernet Analyzers that were implemented in 2011.
Anritsu’s latest analyzer offers multiport 100 GbE/OTU4 simultaneous testing, which perfectly supports one of the key objectives of AMS-IX – the world’s largest internet exchange in connected parties – to focus on continuous growth, as this is what defines the value of an internet exchange.
Today, AMS-IX grants an average traffic rate of 3Tb/s, with peaks of over 4.5Tb/s and a total capacity of over 18Tb/s, and provides global ultra-high speed links, with an architecture based on 100GbE-standard routers and switches. Testing and maintaining this advanced platform, while simultaneously establishing new connections, requires powerful, highly reliable and remotely controlled network analyzers.
Anritsu’s MT1100A Network Master Flex is designed to meet all of these demands, and to provide all the testing requirements for the second wave of innovation in the 40/100GbE networks, while being 400GbE testing ready. Thanks to independent multiport testing, support of all the latest high speed optical modules, and powerful connectivity with remote control of its innovative user interface, the Network Master Flex is the ideal solution for Service Providers, Carriers and Network Operators dealing with the latest and next generation IEEE/ITU-T standards.
The CTOof AMS-IX, Henk Steenman, said: “AMS-IX has relied on Anritsu’s test and measurement solutions for more than 12 years now. To be able to continuously offer a stable, secure and non-blocking distributed switching infrastructure, we have again selected Anritsu’s test and measurement solutions. Their new Analyzer and powerful multiport remote control capabilities allow our engineers to test our links from both ends, while sitting in their office in Amsterdam.”
Hirokazu Hamada, head of R&D at Anritsu Japan, said: “Current demand for ubiquitous high speed connectivity, cloud based services and high performance data centers is pushing network and service providers to ensure top performances in terms of reliability, speed, low latency, and global coverage. For this purpose, successful service providers rely on test and measurement solutions offering the top quality features and strong analysis and monitoring capabilities. Anritsu is proud of offering our new MT1100A Network Master Flex, and maintaining strong relationship and support for AMS-IX strategy as the number one global player for Internet Exchange services.”
