Richardson RFPD Inc. announced the availability and full design support capabilities for two Ka-band power amplifiers from M/A-COM Technology Solutions.

The MAAP-011139 is a 4-stage, 4W power amplifier that operates from 28.5 GHz to 31 GHz and provides 22 dB of linear gain, 4W saturated output power, 23% efficiency while biased at 6V, and +29 dBm Pout/tone while maintaining IM3 levels of -27 dBc. It is offered in a 5 mm x 5 mm, 32-lead AQFN plastic package. A die form of the device (MAAP-011139-DIE) is also available.

The MAAP-011246 is a 4-stage, 2W power amplifier that operates from 27.5 GHz to 31.5 GHz and provides 23 dB of linear gain, 2W saturated output power and 24% efficiency while biased at 6V. It is also offered in a 5 mm x 5 mm, 32-lead AQFN plastic package.

The new power amplifiers are suitable for Ka-Band SATCOM and 28 GHz point-to-point radio applications.
