Teledyne LeCroy announces the expansion of the popular WaveStation series of function/arbitrary waveform generators to include three new models with bandwidth up to 160 MHz and 500 MS/s sample rate — over three times more bandwidth and four times more sample rate than the existing models. The new WaveStation 3000 models come with a larger 4.3” color display, intuitive front panel, two output channels, and PC waveform editing software. WaveStation 3000 models are available with bandwidths of 80 MHz, 120 MHz and 160 MHz, each with 500 MS/s sampling rate, 14-bit resolution and 16 kpts memory per channel. Applications with greater memory needs may access 512 kpts of memory on channel 2, a feature that is standard on all new models.

The intuitive front panel provides easy access to basic waveforms and various operating modes. Users can easily create basic sine, square, ramp, pulse, and noise waveforms. The large display shows all relevant waveform parameters and waveform shapes. High performance hardware enables WaveStation to create accurate stable waveforms. In addition, the high sample rate and high resolution with low jitter and low harmonic distortion ensures the superior precision of the generated waveform.

Accompanying the WaveStation hardware is a PC software utility which simplifies waveform creation and editing. The WaveStation software runs on an external PC and provides additional waveform creation capabilities. Waveforms can be easily created, shaped and edited with the software using mathematical operators, digital filters, or by placing individual sample points. The software also provides a flexible waveform drawing tool allowing the user to create a freeform waveform sketch on the PC and output it from the WaveStation. In addition, the WaveStation waveform editing software provides the unique capability of importing waveforms captured on a WaveAce oscilloscope via USB and recreating them on the WaveStation.

With standard USB and GPIB connectivity it is easy to control WaveStation remotely or integrate it into a test system. All necessary I/O for synchronization can be accessed on the rear panel. A front panel USB port provides an easy way to save waveforms.

WaveStation provides the strong features today's engineers and technicians need, such as, more channels per unit, large color display, an extensive waveform library, and various connectivity and synchronization capabilities.
