Aeroflex/Metelics, a division of Aeroflex Incorporated, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aeroflex Holding Corp., has announced its family of MPD high power switch drivers designed to control higher drive voltages for Aeroflex’s family of MSW series of surface-mount, higher power SP2T and SP3T PIN diode switches. The MPD drivers also work well with all series and series-shunt PIN diode switches.

The MPD family is comprised of four part types used to support both SP2T and SP3T switch configurations in either positive only or positive & negative biasing voltages. The MPD Driver family is TTL compatible and RoHS compliant. The MPD Driver family is capable of controlling biasing voltages levels up +125 V and as low as -200 V which enables superior RF performance. The MPD drivers are available in surface-mount-technology (SMT) packages measuring 1.3” square x 0.33” high and available in a tube and tape-reel packaging for high volume pick and place automated assembly.

“The combination of the MSW high power switch and the associated MPD switch driver family enable design engineers to quickly field proven solutions with industry leading performance,” said Tim Emery, Vice President, Sales and Marketing. “The MPD drivers are rated to provide biasing voltages which enable exception isolation performance of extremely high RF signal levels. This reduces time to market while achieving industry leading RF performance.
