As we enter the "Dog Days of Summer," it's a busy time here at MWJ. While sensible folks are enjoying vacations on the beach or mountain retreats, we're working double-time to publish two issues in August. Along with the "Satellite and Radio Communications" issue for August, we'll be producing the annual "Military Microwaves" supplement, our biggest and most popular special supplement of the year. Last year's edition was a record breaker at 100 pages strong, and we're expecting to meet that goal again in 2011. Part of the reason for its advertising appeal is the bonus distribution at both the European Microwave Week and MILCOM events, where it will be distributed in their respective delegate bags. Another reason is the unique and relevant content found within its pages and described in greater detail in editor David Vye's contribution to this month's newsletter. The deadlines for both issues are coming up quickly, so book your ad this week if you have not yet done so.
It's not too late to book your booth for European Microwave Week, taking place in October in Manchester, UK. There are still a few good booths available. It's also not too early to start planning your advertising for the September show issue, which will be distributed in the delegate bag and on the show floor again this year.
Based on the success of last year's "Defence/Security Executive Forum", MWJ along with EuMA have organized a full day event during this year’s European Microwave Week. The 2011 "Executive Summit" will take place on Wednesday, October 12th. A full program of presentations focused on security and defence issues will conclude with the Executive Forum, in which leading representatives from European defence agencies and executives from industry will discuss their views on RF/microwave technology for future systems requirements. A very limited number of sponsorship opportunities are available for this event, so contact your MWJ sales representative if you’re interested in learning more. Click here to view a description.
We have several openings for sponsorship of Microwave FLASH in the coming weeks. We have also added text ads to the FLASH, providing a low-cost option to highlight a new product or just drive traffic to your website.
It was great to see many of you last month in Baltimore during the IEEE MTT-S. We had a great show, and I hope that you all found new business opportunities and renewed old friendships. I look forward to seeing many more of you at upcoming events like IEEE EMC and EuMW. In the meantime, enjoy your summer. And don't work too hard.
Best,
