Verios has signed an OEM partnership deal with Anritsu A/S for the global sales, marketing and distribution rights to its software solution for real-time monitoring, management and troubleshooting of mobile wireless access networks. The solution enables operators to more effectively manage network quality issues that directly impact on their revenues, thus helping to maximize the returns from their existing infrastructure investments.

Anritsu has customers for its MasterClaw™ network monitoring solution across Europe, Middle East, the Americas and Asia. Verios’ Radio Access Network (RAN) product will be incorporated as part of Anritsu’s overall range of solutions for its customers that address the operational support systems (OSS) for in-service network monitoring and service assurance business.

The explosion of smartphone usage is placing severe pressure on the capabilities of mobile networks with growing instances of dropped calls, blocked calls and data connection issues that cause operators to lose revenue. Eighty percent of these quality problems on mobile networks are caused by issues at the radio access level, which are increasingly difficult and expensive to solve as network infrastructure and traffic is becoming more complex. The Verios RAN product provides an innovative solution that enables operators for the first time to monitor and optimize the performance of their radio networks in a real-time, network-wide and scalable manner.

The technology has been developed over the past two years by the Verios engineering team in Dublin with support from Enterprise Ireland and the first product is scheduled for worldwide release by Anritsu in February 2011. The OEM deal with Anritsu will accelerate the sales and market penetration of the Verios product in a rapidly growing market sector.

“2010 was a tremendous year for us, with many successes,” said Gerard Carroll, CEO of Verios. “Enterprise Ireland has been essential to our growth. They have been extremely supportive in providing strategic advice and giving us access to mentors and advisers, to the point where our product is being launched and sold internationally through a strong partnership with an industry leader.”

Welcoming the announcement, Conor Fahy Director at Enterprise Ireland, said, “Enterprise Ireland greatly welcomes this announcement from Verios. The partnership deal with a major global corporation such as Anritsu represents a significant achievement for Verios in building their international market presence. They have focussed on providing innovative solutions that address a very real need on a global basis in a large and growing market sector and we are delighted to support Verios as they continue on their international growth strategy.”
