Northrop Grumman Corp. has been awarded a $14.1 millionoption to complete development of the Joint Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) Electronic Warfare (JCREW) Increment 1, Block 1 (I1B1) System of Systems. Spotsylvania County, Virginia, has awarded Harris Corp. a $19 million contract to replace its existing public safety radio system with one that improves its coverage area and is based on the latest technology standards. The new system will improve communications for law enforcement, fire service and Emergency Medical Service (EMS) personnel who serve one of Virginia's fastest-growing counties.

Crane Co., a diversified manufacturer of highly engineered industrial products,announced that Eric C. Fast, chief executive officer, will retire from Crane Co. in January 2014. Fast joined Crane in 1999 as president and chief operating officer and was promoted to chief executive officer in January 2001. He will be succeeded by Max H. Mitchell, currently president and chief operating officer.

Northrop Grumman Corp. will provide 48 more self-deploying, monopole JIB antennas for Global Positioning System (GPS III) satellites under a follow-on contract from Lockheed Martin Corp.. The work will be carried out by Astro Aerospace, a strategic business unit of Northrop Grumman.
